Legal Accessibility

Accessibility

COGS of Australia Foundation is committed to making this website accessible to all Australians, including people with disability. This page describes our accessibility standards, what we have done, and how to contact us if you have an issue.

§ 01 Our commitment

Our Commitment

COGS of Australia Foundation aims to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. These guidelines are set by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) and are the accepted standard for web accessibility in Australia.

Accessibility is ongoing work, not a one-time achievement. We test our pages, fix issues as we find them, and welcome reports from users who encounter barriers.

§ 02 Measures taken

What We Have Done

Skip navigation

Every page includes a skip link at the top of the page. Keyboard users can press Tab on page load to skip directly to the main content, bypassing the navigation header.

Semantic HTML

Pages use correct HTML5 landmark elements (header, nav, main, footer) and heading hierarchy (h1 through h3) so screen readers can navigate and understand page structure.

Keyboard navigation

All interactive elements (links, buttons, form fields) are reachable and operable using a keyboard alone. Focus indicators are visible on all interactive elements. No keyboard trap exists on any page.

Colour contrast

Text and interactive element colours meet the WCAG 2.1 AA minimum contrast ratio of 4.5:1 for normal text and 3:1 for large text.

Text resizing

Text can be resized up to 200% in the browser without loss of content or function. The layout is responsive and adjusts to mobile, tablet, and desktop screen sizes.

Link purpose

Link text describes the destination or action. We avoid using "click here" or "read more" without context. Where a link opens in a new tab, this is indicated.

Language declaration

Every page declares its language in the HTML element (lang="en") so screen readers use the correct language profile.

No motion dependency

No essential information is conveyed through motion or animation alone. No auto-playing audio or video is used on any page.

§ 03 Known limitations

Known Limitations

We are aware of the following accessibility limitations. We are working to address them.

Member wallet and join form

The member wallet and join form are in active development. Some complex form interactions may not yet meet full WCAG 2.1 AA compliance. If you encounter a barrier in the join form, contact us at home@cogsaustralia.org and we will assist you manually.

PDF documents

Some PDF documents (including the Joint Venture Participation Agreement and CJVM Hybrid Trust Declaration) linked from this site may not be fully tagged for screen reader access. If you need an accessible version of any document, contact us and we will provide it.

Data tables

Some complex data tables on legal reference pages may be difficult to navigate with a screen reader on small screens. We are working to improve table markup and mobile presentation.

§ 04 Report an issue
