Company and ESG Enquiries
The Foundation currently holds CHESS-registered shares in ASX-listed resource companies. It has designated two companies as Poor ESG Target candidates, pending First Nations Advisory Council review. It exercises its governance rights as a registered shareholder at portfolio company AGMs.
ASX-listed companies
sub-trust-b@cogsaustralia.org
Subject line: Company enquiry. Identify your company and the nature of your enquiry. For AGM-related correspondence, include the company name, the meeting date, and the relevant resolution.
The Foundation welcomes dialogue with portfolio companies and ESG Target designees. The Foundation's stated operational policy is to work toward a minimum 5 per cent shareholding in Poor ESG Target companies. This is a forward-looking policy commitment; the Foundation does not yet hold 5 per cent in any Poor ESG Target company. The Foundation's activist mandate is an entrenched founding principle. Community consent is a governance precondition, not a post-decision courtesy.
ESG engagement
Open to dialogue
Companies seeking to improve their ESG standing and engage with the Foundation's member governance community are welcome to make contact. The Foundation is not opposed to resource development. It is opposed to resource development without genuine community consent and social benefit justification.
First Nations and Community Peers
The Foundation's primary invitation to First Nations governance partners was the Jubullum Local Aboriginal Land Council (JLALC), representing the Wahlubal people and other Aboriginal people in the Tenterfield and Kyogle area.
Local Aboriginal Land Councils (LALCs) and Prescribed Bodies Corporate (PBCs, the bodies set up under the Native Title Act to hold and manage native title rights) automatically receive governance rights at zero cost. This applies to Country within the Foundation's area of operation. LALC communities do not need to pay $4 to hold governance rights over Country that is already theirs.
LALCs and First Nations communities
info@cogsaustralia.org
Subject line: First Nations enquiry. Include your community name, your LALC or PBC if applicable, and the nature of your enquiry.
The FNAC review process and the Landholder COGS automatic issue process are both explained in detail on the First Nations and FNAC pages. We respond to First Nations enquiries promptly and with care.
